Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, DeLisa is a smooth, versatile singer and songwriter with a soulful sound. She has a voice that is laced with emotion that you can feel in your heart as well as in the depth of your soul. She can capture your thoughts and feelings in the lyrics of her songs.
Growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, DeLisa was introduced and exposed to the many different genres of music. With a hairbrush as a microphone, or anything that she could get her hands on, she would hum a melody to anyone who would listen. Her grandmother believed that she had something to give to the world and introduced her to the church choir at the early age of four. DeLisa was never shy and was always eager to sing at the drop of a hat. She would later begin to write songs about her everyday life.
At the age of 15, DeLisa began working with a local area producer and artist, Kevin McCoy and Carl Marshall, respectively. They would each help her hone and mold her talents. It was during this time that DeLisa met a local area rapper, Warren Maize, who gave her a chance to prove herself. He had already released a single "Get It Girl" and needed a female singer to sing a hook on a song titled "Telephone Love" that was to be released on his self debut album. That song was the beginning of her music career.
Wanting to have herself heard, DeLisa decided that the only way to get this done was to create her very own production company. With the help of her husband, Tony, and friends, Roc and Sean, Black Rock Productions, LLC was born. With the conception of Black Rock Productions, LLC, DeLisa's debut album was released. Currently working on her second album, DeLisa has not stopped and doesn't plan on stopping just yet.
DeLisa wrote a song titled "Lord Knows I Tried" for Theryl "Houseman" DeClouet which was released on his album, The Truth Iz Out. The album was released in 2007 and the song was made into a video shortly thereafter.
